"In her book, Affirming You, Gayle Chandler takes us on a journey that helps us discover the importance of names to God. A stunning picture comes to mind: Did God in His inimitable love, carefully and deliberately agonize to choose exactly the right name for each of us, His longed-for children? Did our Heavenly Parent whisper meaning into the hearts of our earthly parents, the meaning of who we were to be? This is a rich and wondrous look at the process and poignancy of naming, and of being named. Once you have read it, you will never again take a name lightly." "Affirming You will be a wonderful tool to encourage individuals in the support groups that I teach on anxiety issues. I looked up my name and found that you spelled it the way I do, which is unusual. I feel very affirmed also by what was said. Thanks. I don't know if you had me in mind by what you wrote, but it expressed my heart and it made me tear up and encouraged. I also looked up your name and find that it expressed your life when it says, "You are one who takes the source of tears and defeat, and turns them into confident trust with rejoicing. As you experience and remain sensitive to the things that sorrow the heart of God, He will pour His oil of joy on and through you to restore hope to those who are mourning (Isaiah 61:1-3)." I know you live in those words!" Dorene L. Amstutz, Fresno, CA |
" We received a copy of your book today. I was surprised when I saw it and it took me a moment to figure out what it might be. Then it hit me. Wow! I opened the package and was blown away by the size of your tome. It's definitely a book alright. As I got into it I again was blown away as I realized the amount of research and dedication it took to produce. I know how much this work means to you for without that outstanding dedication it would never have come to be. Congratulations on what I recognize as a nicely done work from the heart." "Your influence reaches farther than you will ever know. Several of my friends have already been blessed by your book. And it has served as an encouraging reminder to me, not only in the fact that I am reminded of God's purpose and destiny, but in the fact that there are people who still believe in what God can do in my life. Thank you for your faithfulness. Thank you for pursuing your dreams. Thank you for the obedience in following through with the things the Lord has placed on your heart. You are an example worthy of being followed. I love you and am very proud to consider you a mentor." Julia Davis, South Hamilton, MA

"Gayle Chandler's book, Affirming You, has brought so much joy to me since I received it. I was amazed at the detail and the time that was put into this book. I knew that the person writing this book was not alone, but was under the Spirit and the anointing of our Heavenly Father. My friends and I were going out together the day after I received Gayle's book. So I decided to take it with me. It became the whole conversation piece for the night. It affirmed everything about every person present and also confirmed attributes already seen in each other's lives. It was used as a tool to bring two sisters closer together as they read about each other's names. Even their last name was in the book. I can't wait to see what will take place as I take Affirming You on a cruise with these same friends and other ladies from three different churches. Mrs. Chandler's book is going to lead people to their calling from God. Thank you and many blessings to you, Mrs. Chandler. You are on a mission!" Gail A. Nowlin, High Point, NC |
"Affirming You has inspired me to take the first and second names of each child and grandchild from your book and together pray over them asking God to give me His specific plan to believe Him for. As I put them together in one book I can then, by faith, believe and therefore speak calling them forth as God see's them. Romans 4:17 Paul reminds us that God calls those things that are not as though they were. God gave me the revelation of calling forth by name when I studied the life of Abraham and Sarah...I saw it for myself and believed God was showing me something special to believe Him for,for my husband. Most family and friends call him Mike and his name is Michael which I learned the meaning is "Protector of God's people" I began to call him Michael instead of Mike. By faith I was calling him forth to be the "Protector of God's People" I have witnessed several changes in his character. I believe, therefore I speak. As I looked into our children's names, it is amazing what I see, that what the enemy meant for evil, God uses for good. They just need someone to believe God for His plan to be fulfilled in their lives. This really excites me as I do even more research and look into Scriptures. When we know the truth it defines who God meant for them to be, even revealing their callings. Your gift of searching out the meaning of names is a blessing to those who would chose to believe that there is nothing insignificant to God, in His overall plan and purpose of each life created by Him. Our names can carry as much as weight as we would dare to believe God for our destiny in glorifying Him." Alta Lynn Blake |
